Here are a few new ones. A few Radon mitigation systems we were called to look at lately in Menasha and Oshkosh. Complaints were: ugly, noisy, did not lower Radon enough. Both installed by plumbers. One was certified, one was not.
Both systems could have been routed through the garage which would have been much better all the way around. On the first system the electric was not up to code, only had a cord ran through the wall to a basement outlet. Black rubber couplers on the fan/pipe. The Radon fan was not level (bearing will be louder and will shorten life span). Clamps on the rubber couplers were not tightened properly. The vent, where concentrated Radon comes out was facing down towards patio. Anyone standing there would be exposed to high levels of Radon. Wow!
Second system, had only one clamp on system and its connected to the fascia, which is weak, with screws coming out. The system would have fallen away from home very easily in any kind of wind. And, the system was very loud. Located next to bedroom.
Next post will be one of our systems.
