A customer asked me the other day, “how come your company wasn’t voted #1 for Radon in our area?” I did not have an answer for them, and said I would find out how that was possible.
The long story short is that a company can make a false claim on Google Ads without much consequence from Google. A local competitor does say they were voted #1.
The problem with that is that there was no contest for this. No survey was sent out by anyone or any company asking “who do you think is the best Radon company in our area?” So, this company is making this claim to make themselves look good. They are trying to get the upper hand under false pretenses.
Look Beyond the Radon Company Near Me Ad
This competitor is treading on thin ice. I can actually take action considering fair trade practices and with our certification company. It’s an an ethical violation to make false claims regarding competition.
Bottom line: don’t always believe what you see on ads. And do your research before making a decision on who you hire for radon mitigation services.
